The ISPIN Nominating Committee announces a call for nominations for the following offices:
President-Elect
Vice-President
Secretary
Director of Member Experience
Director of Standing Committees
Deadlines:
The application process closes on 1 September 2025. All elected officers will begin their term on 1 January 2026. Please read the information below regarding the open positions.
General Board of Directors' Role Descriptions/Responsibilities
Board Functions
Attends and remains fully engaged in all board and quarterly supporter meetings, as well as other events related to ISPIN.
Assumes responsibilities delegated by the President and/or the board.
Serve as liaisons between assigned committees and the board.
Serves on committees or task forces as needed, completing work in a timely manner.
Volunteers for or accepts the request to work on a project.
Communication And Public Relations
Remains up to date on developments and trends in the nursing profession and professional identity in nursing.
Follows confidentiality and conflict-of-interest policies.
Advocates and serve as an ambassador for ISPIN.
Respond within 48 hours to committee/task force/ work group e-mails when input/feedback is requested.
Board Relationships
Prepares in advance for all board meetings by reviewing the agenda, previous minutes, and supporting materials prior to the meeting.
Takes responsibility for self-education on the key issues before the board.
Supports all board decisions and assists with the implementation of this work.
Fiduciary Responsibility
Reviews and assesses ISPIN financial statements and budget approval.
Active engagement in financial discussion for revenue development.
Financially contributes to ISPIN.
All Board members are expected to uphold the above responsibilities as well as the specific board responsibilities listed below.
Candidates must meet the following criteria:
The candidate has a strong interest in the mission and vision of ISPIN.
The candidate can speak about the work of ISPIN and be a voice for ISPIN.
The candidate possesses qualifications to serve in this position as indicated in the biographical data form and candidate assessment:
Leadership skills
Organizational skills
Writing ability
Communication skills
Ability to work with others
Commitment to ISPIN
The Candidate is able and willing to commit the necessary time and resources to serve effectively in the position for which he or she is nominated.
Candidates must complete the following:
A willingness to serve acknowledgment within the application below.
A curriculum vitae that shows evidence that the Candidate is currently engaged in or supportive of ISPIN at some level.
A letter of support from a professional colleague from an individual who can speak to the Candidate’s leadership.
A 250-word candidate statement to be included with the ballot.
