Amy Hite, EdD(c), DNP, APRN, FNP-C

Dr. Amy Hite has extensive education and clinical practice in rural healthcare. This is evident through her history of service, leadership, mentoring, and organizational skills. She is Director and Professor at the Irene Ransom Bradley School of Nursing, Pittsburg State University, Pittsburg, KS.

Dr. Hite enjoys serving on regional, national and international boards, committees, and task forces. She has taught undergraduate and graduate nursing courses at PSU since 2004. She has successfully secured five federal HRSA Grants: two for rural Nurse Practitioner Residency and three for Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner Projects. She serves as the Project Director for these grants. She has served on the Advisory Board for the International Society for Professional Identity in Nursing since the first Think Tank in 2018. She chaired the Advanced Practice Work Group, 2021-2023. Dr. Hite has been a member of the KS Board of Nursing Education Committee since 2020 and the KS Attorney General’s Anti-Human Trafficking Advisory Board. She was appointed by the Governor to the Board of Directors for the Kansas State Board of Nursing in June 2024. She was appointed to the AACN Essentials, Domain 9 Work Group, which led to her selection as an AACN Essentials Coach. Dr. Hite maintains a part-time clinical practice as an Emergency Department Nurse Practitioner at a Rural Level III Trauma Center.
