Jennifer L. Embree DNP, RN, NE-BC, CCNS, FAAN
Jennifer L. Embree, DNP, RN, NE-BC, CCNS, FAAN, is the Chief Wellness Officer at Indiana University School of Nursing’s core schools of Indianapolis, Bloomington, Columbus, and Fort Wayne. She is also a Clinical Professor at Indiana University School of Nursing-Indianapolis, she is the Nursing Research Scientist at Eskenazi Health, and coordinator of the master’s in nursing leadership and health systems track at IUSON. She teaches leadership in the DNP Executive Leadership and Population Health Programs.
The Chief Wellness Officer at IU School of Nursing, Dr. Embree leads strategy around wellbeing and will facilitate wellness programs and initiatives to support IUSON faculty, staff, and student wellbeing.
Dr. Embree’s current research includes professional identity in nursing, perceptions of safe staffing, and interventions for workplace bullying. She is passionate about helping individuals and communities achieve self-stewardship (or their own well-being). She is the co-associate editor of the Journal of Continuing Education in the “Nursing’s Teaching Tips” column and a reviewer for several nursing journals.
A Reiki Master trained in Healing Touch, and a 2023 Institute for Healthcare Improvement Inaugural Leadership Well-being Cohort member, Dr. Embree produced the Indiana State Nurses Association’s Wellness Events, has published on “health coaching,” “Healthy Nurse, the Healthy Nation,” “self-regulation and mindfulness during a pandemic,” “leadership experiences in a healthy work environment,” “professional comportment,” and the American Academy of Nursing’s consensus recommendations to advance system-level change for nurse well-being.
