The purpose of this year's symposium is to advance the science of professional identity formation, embodiment, and transformation. Calling leaders to focus on PIN as a centering force for education, practice, policy, and regulation.
Join us for an interactive symposium to learn about the latest developments in the science of Professional Identity in Nursing. The virtual event was well-received last year. To convene, connect, and engage members in professional identity in nursing (PIN) formation, innovation, implementation, and planning. Engage in creating the future directions of practice, policy, research, and education. Sponsored by the International Society for Professional Identity in Nursing (ISPIN), this virtual conference welcomes all US and international nurses and students to learn and engage with the Professional Identity in Nursing initiative.
Call for Abstracts
The call for abstracts are open from 1 April 2026 through 31 July 2026.
Conference Objectives
Participants will be able to:
Describe the Professional Identity in Nursing (PIN) Scale.
Describe the difference between the concepts of professional identity and professionalism in nursing.
Identify strategies to standardize PIN across education, policy, and practice.
Discuss global challenges and opportunities related to the adoption of the PIN.
Identity strategies on how to thread PIN through a nursing education curriculum.
Nursing Continuing Professional Development
Pittsburg State University School of Nursing is approved as a provider of continuing nursing education by the Kansas State Board of Nursing.
Continuing Nursing Education credit will be granted by the Pittsburg State University Irene Ransom Bradley School of Nursing.
